The Plan

Cornerstone Classics

Cornerstone Classic Plans are home designs that we have optimized over 40 years of building. These homes maximize usable space and dollars spent for value gained. Also, because we and our team have built versions of these homes many times, the risk cost decreases. Your home will still truly be a custom home, but with the classics we can focus your budget on your priorites.

Fully Custom

There are endless possibilites, more plans and ideas than can be counted, and trends that maybe you will create. Perhaps you have a very specific vision for your home. We can help translate your vision into a buildable reality. Fully custom homes are truly one of a kind, but it is imporant to know that they are more expensive and take longer to complete.

Other Facts and Tips

  •  Many plans off the internet are not drawn to scale and are often not buildable. The folks who make these plans clearly don't want to give away a buildable plan for free when they have a version you need to pay for. However, internet plans are great points of reference to explore what you like.
  • Ranch homes cost more per square foot because you have roof system over and basement under every square foot of the build.
  • A sprawling ranch is the most expensive plan to build.
  • Typically, the more corners in foundation, the more expensive the build. And the important question is do they actually add value or is it just bad design?
  • Width of the home matters alot. How wide is your home in comparison with your lot? How far back will it have to sit? The further back you home is the more expensive it will be to bring in utilties and the driveway.
  • Side load garages are not for every lot. They often increase the overall width of the foot print.
  • Does your lot slope? Often this will determine daylight or walkout in the basement, and also can impact which side of the home your garage will be on.
  • Every square foot matters. How big are the hallways? Is there wasted space? Is the storage primary or secondary space? Do you have enough storage?
